“Oh, Skippy–do you love me?” she asked.<\/p>\n

“Of course,” I replied. \u00c2\u00a0“I’m wearing my best bow-tie and suspenders. \u00c2\u00a0Not everyone rates such snazzy duds.”<\/p>\n

“But, Skippy, I need more. \u00c2\u00a0You’re dashing in the tie, and no one, not even Mork, could shoulder snappy suspenders like you can, but it’s not enough. \u00c2\u00a0I crave… something.”<\/p>\n

What was it, I wondered. \u00c2\u00a0Diamonds? \u00c2\u00a0Rubies? Leather gear? \u00c2\u00a0A socket wrench or a bowl of cereal or a cute chipmunk or the smell of a ringing phone or the cat’s meow sans<\/em> cat or a mime’s vocal cords on a silver platter (the mime objected, but it was a mute point) or maybe a rhubarb pie? \u00c2\u00a0“Maybe some pie?” I suggested.<\/p>\n

“No, Darling, not pie. \u00c2\u00a0Not even rhubarb trimmed by mime bits. \u00c2\u00a0Something else, something that says you love me, but says it in neon, in flashy, in shoo-bop, shoo-wadda-wadda, yipitty-boom-de-boom. \u00c2\u00a0I need–”<\/p>\n

“Yes?”<\/p>\n

“–a mix CD.”<\/p>\n

And so, I made one for her. \u00c2\u00a0Filled with the cheesy goodness I listened to back in the days before I turned into an old grump. \u00c2\u00a0And if you want one, it’s yours. \u00c2\u00a0Just shoot me your name and mailing address to this address (click me!)<\/a> Want to know what’s on it? \u00c2\u00a0Too bad!
